How Much Power Do The Vehicles Make?

The McLaren 720S comes with a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine that makes 710 horses and 564 pound-feet of twist in the stock condition. Power is routed to the rear wheels only via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Here, however, it generates 925 horses and 738 pound-feet of torque.

The mods on this British car include a cat-back exhaust system, MTC downpipes, and a Stage 2 tune. It weighs only 3,131 pounds (1,420 kilos). This means the power-to-weight ratio on the McLaren is 651 horses/ton.

The Porsche 911 Turbo S is powered by a 3.7-liter, six-cylinder twin-turbo engine that produces 650 horses and 590 pound-feet of torque.

This tuned example puts out 951 ponies and 811 pound-feet of torque. That’s 301 horses and 221 pound-feet of torque more than the standard output.

Power is routed to the wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch PDK.

The mods here include:

  • Dual-port methanol injection system
  • Custom equal-length headers
  • Full-turbo back titanium exhaust system
  • Hybrid turbos
  • Uprated intercoolers
  • Custom tune by ES Motor

It weighs 3,637 pounds (1,650 kilos), which is 506 pounds (230 kilos) more than the McLaren, but that’s mainly because of the all-wheel-drive system on this car. The power-to-weight ratio on the Porsche is 575 horses/ton.

The modifications include a straight-through exhaust system and a custom Stage 1 tune. The bike weighs merely 564 pounds (256 kilos), thus giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 937 horses/ton. Power is routed to the rear wheel via a six-speed manual gearbox.
