Emmerdale star says ‘body is broken’ as he teases dramatic water stunt

Emmerdale’s Kevin Mathurin, who plays vicar Charles Anderson on the ITV soap, appeared to confirm he was involved in a huge stunt to air later this year – with him pictured on location

Emmerdale is set to air a dramatic water stunt according to reports and new pictures from filming on location – and now one actor has teased the big episodes.

Kevin Mathurin, who plays vicar Charles Anderson, appeared to confirm he will feature in the stunt, as he tweeted about filming “demanding” scenes – while he was also pictured on location according to Metro.co.uk.

Few details are known about the storyline or who else might be involved, while it’s tipped to be a big stunt that airs during the usual big October week.

Now, Kevin has revealed more on the new plot as he promised that viewers will not be left disappointed, despite it being a lot of hard work.

Taking to Twitter, actor Kevin teased what was ahead saying: “My body is broken. Work has been very demanding lately.

“But I can only keep doing my best and rest when I can. I miss my family, my home and my routine.

“But I promise you what’s coming up will be worth the little sacrifices. Everyone’s commitment has been amazing!”

Viewers saw the tweet and quickly responded with well wishes, with many very excited to learn of the stunt after earlier pictures teased there was one on the way.

The suggestion that Charles would be caught up in it though left many worried he could be leaving the soap.

One viewer tweeted: “Seen pics of filming the stunt. Looks awesome. Emmerdale always do the best stunt weeks. I’m very worried for Ethan. He best not be in the water. You two have been amazing since you arrived. Hope your body gets some rest.”

Another fan commented back: “Can’t wait to see what’s coming up but please return to look after yourself first.”

A third tweeted the actor: “Wasn’t aware of a stunt coming up, look forward to it, best soap around atm, terrific cast and scriptwriters!”

It comes following the release of pictures of Emmerdale favourites Victoria Sugden and David Metcalfe finding themselves in danger, amid a huge water stunt in upcoming scenes.

Actress Isabel Hodgins was spotted filming at a Teeside location for water sports which is not currently allowing visitors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

David actor Matthew Wolfenden was also present for the scenes and appeared to be trying to rescue Victoria from the furious waters.

ITV’s Super Soap Week airs in October and sees Emmerdale and Coronation Street typically air huge storylines related to their most popular characters.

A source told Metro.co.uk : “The scenes being filmed are clearly very big and from what I gathered they are for ITV’s Super Soap Week.

“Matthew and Isabel were all there with cast and I could see there was a stunt being filmed.”

The Mirror reached out to ITV for comment on the story but they declined to discuss future storylines.

Fans are well aware that Victoria is currently caught in a love triangle with David and his girlfriend Meena Jutla.

However, unbeknownst to all of the characters in the soap, nurse Meena is actually a murderer, having killed her best friend Nadine years prior, before murdering teen Leanna Cavanagh earlier this year.

Emmerdale airs every night at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
