Jimmy Carr to appear as surprising backing singer on Ed Sheeran’s new album

Despite being able to have his pick of the bunch, Ed Sheeran has revealed that Jimmy Carr features on his upcoming album – as does Courteney Cox

Ed Sheeran has collaborated with some of the best in the music industry.

The flame-haired singer, 30, has already topped the charts with the likes of Justin Bieber, Eminem and Beyonce, but his latest choice is sure to cause confusion.

Ed has confirmed that comedian Jimmy Carr provides backing vocals to one of his songs on his upcoming album called Equals.

The funnyman is said to be on the track Visiting Hours, which has also featured Kylie Minogue.

And Jimmy might not be the only shock appearance on the album with the singer also hinting that Friends star Courteney Cox features in some way.

The actress, 57, is currently dating Ed’s producer and songwriter Johnny McDaid.

When questioned whether his pal Courteney could make an appearance, Ed told The Sun: “Yeah, easily.

“I’m pretty sure she sings backing vocals on the album. I think she’s on Visiting Hours. If not, she was definitely on Divide somewhere.

He then dropped the bombshell regarding the comedian, adding: “Jimmy Carr the comedian is on the background. It’s true.”

The shocking news is just the latest in a line of surprises by the London comic. At a recent gig, Jimmy also dropped in that he is actually now a father – and has been for two years.

The Sun reported that the 48-year-old is said to have welcomed a tot two years ago with his partner Karoline Copping.

He is said to have shared the news with during a gig the O2 Academy Brixton in South London.

The news seemingly came to light when he teased: “I had to tell my little boy he’s adopted.

“I mean, he isn’t, but the look on his face. I said, ‘No, no, no, you were adopted, the new family is picking you up tomorrow.’”

The publication added that he told the audience: “We’re having a gender-reveal party for our kid but we’re going to wait until he’s 21 just to be sure. With some babies you can’t tell, is it a boy or an ugly girl?”
