We knew there was going to be a murder, but nobody saw the suspicious death of Craig Burke coming – and the list of suspects is pretty long
BBC One’s latest drama Vigil has fans hooked and with suspicious murders, subramines and a stellar cast it’s not hard to see why.
The second episode of the claustrophobic murder mystery aired on Bank Holiday Monday and the hunt for Craig Burke’s killer continued.
But as the net tightened around the supposed killer, surprise new evidence actually opened up a far more terrifying possibility.
Lt Commander Mark Prentice (Adam James) finally confessed to the murder, explaining that he had punched Burke in a fit of rage hours before Burke had died.
But when a key piece of evidence was uncovered, Silva realised it wasn’t that simple.
In fact, the sudden illness of Engineer Adams (Tom Gill) – coupled with a mysterious yellow stain on Burke’s jumper – seemed to suggest he was actually poisoned.
Realising that Adams fell ill after attempting to give Burke CPR after finding him lifeless, Silva came to the conclusion that he had unwittingly ingested some of the poison in the process.
And if that wasn’t enough, events took a tragic turn on land when Burke’s secret girlfriend ended up dead in the lake after planning to meet an anonymous source.
