The Australian actress shed more than 66lbs during her ‘Year of Health’ in 2020, and has been showing off her jaw-dropping transformation
Rebel Wilson looks more incredible than ever as she flaunted her weight loss at a football game in Los Angeles.
The 41-year-old actress shared a snap of her at the NFL game to cheer on her beloved team, the Los Angeles Rams as they took on the Chicago Bears at the SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
“Let’s go boys! @rams All the way to the Super Bowl,” she wrote, alongside yellow and blue heart emojis.
In the snap, Rebel showcased her staggering weight loss as she wore a blue and yellow Rams jersey while posing on the football field, with one of the players behind her, as well as the team mascot.
“Damn girl, great job on the weight loss,” one of her followers commented on the photo, while another added: “Whoa girl you look like a whole new you!”
The Pitch Perfect star decided to shed the pounds as she embarked on a Year of Health in 2020 when she turned 40.
Rebel dropped an incredible 30kg (66lbs), and she said losing weight was never a priority, because she wanted to overhaul her lifestyle in order to get fitter and healthier.
She switched junk food for high-protein meals instead, and admitted she had put in a goal weight as she needed something to focus on in order to stick to the diet.
“The goal was never to be skinny,” she told Shape magazine. “It was never to fit into a certain dress size. I put in a weight because I needed some tangible thing.”
“I never properly considered wellness from all angles. But I was turning 40 and thinking about freezing my eggs, and the experts told me that the healthier I am, the better the process can go.”
Rebel avoided gruelling workouts and restricting her diet, and opted for a personal trainer and moderate walking, which she said was the biggest factor in helping her to shift “unnecessary body fat”.
She attended a health retreat at the start of her 12-month transformation, and it was there that she learned how valuable a brisk walk could be to improving her health.
“While there I learned that moderate — not even fast-paced — walking is the best way for me to lose unnecessary body fat,” Rebel explained.
During a recent appearance on the The Weekend Briefing podcast, she admitted she was proud of herself, and how far she’s come, since announcing her ‘Year of Health’.
Reflecting on her hard work over the last year, Rebel said shifting the pounds wasn’t just about losing weight, but was a long-term lifestyle change to be a “healthier version” of herself.
“To me what the year of health was, was just being a healthier version,” she said, noting that she wanted to improve her health so she could eventually start a family.
“It was just about being the healthiest version of me and I dedicated all of 2020 to doing that, and I’m proud of myself,” Rebel shared.
