Strictly viewers beg BBC to change schedule as they get sick of spoilers

Strictly Come Dancing viewers want the BBC to change its schedule and get rid of the Sunday results show.

Claiming the show is actually filmed on Saturday, fans are worried the results might get leaked.

Viewers have long fumed that programme spoilers were circulating on social media before the Sunday segment aired.

And in the wake of contestant Dan Walkers comments earlier this week, about refusing to “work on Sundays” for religious reasons, fans have begged the BBC bosses to scrap the results show all together.

One asked: “Can #StrictlyComeDancing stop this charade of pretending that the results are live when it was filmed last night?”

Another pointed out: “They only started doing Sundays to rival the X Factor who did it – so now that X Factor isn’t on anymore can they put the results back on Saturday again?! #Strictly”

While a third fumed: “They really just need to get rid of Sunday night and do a longer live show on a Saturday……half the time some muppet on here will just spoil it all for everyone.”

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan told the I newspaper: “I’ve always had that day as a family day. Sometimes, it’s been difficult, and some people find it peculiar that that’s the stance I’ve chosen to take.

“But it’s really important. I work a lot, so I have to make up for the fact that I’m not there.”

Despite fans’ grumblings about the Sunday saga, they will no doubt be happy to see the return of McFly’s Tom Fletcher and his dance partner Amy Dowden.

The pair are due to return to the show after testing positive for Covid after their debut dance.

Tom and Amy will return to the programme with a Back To The Future themed jive.

Making up for lost time they were spotted heading to a dance studio for rehearsals on Wednesday.

The pair also took to their Instagram stories to document their return to training, with the father-of-three looking ready to get back into action.

Another couple fans will no doubt be looking forward to seeing his Johannes Radebe and Kai Widdrington, who will lead a same-sex love story routine on tomorrow night’s show.

The pros will be performing a routine to open Saturday night’s show, set at an elegant ball.

In a preview clip on It Takes Two, Johannes explains that his character, despite being surrounded by friends, is alone with no-one to dance with.

Searching for romance, he starts the routine alone, searching for his soulmate through the crowd of dancers.

Midway through the routine, Kai steps in, takes his hand, and the pair go galavanting across the dance floor.
